Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer Review

Behringer DDM4000 300x218 Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer ReviewHere is another great mixer by Behringer. The DDM4000 is a professional 32-bit digital mixer with 4 FX Sections, 2 BPM counters, digital crossfader and MIDI functionality.

It has 4 Phono/Line crossfader-assignable stereo channels that allow you to connect up to 8 signal sources at the same time. All channels have their own 3-band digital EQs with an infinite cut or kill option and up to 12 dB of boost. You can directly monitor any channel with your headphones by using the PFL switch, which is found above the fader.

There is also one channel for the microphone, which has 2 XLR mic inputs. The Mic channel also has its own FX section, which you can simply apply with the push of the button. Another cool feature of the vocal channel is the special “talk” feature. By using this feature you can attenuate the volume of the other 4 channels and thus make sure that your voice will be heard loudly and clearly over the music.

It also has a beat-synchronized sampler, which allows you to record a segment of incoming audio and loop it continuously without dropping the beat. This allows for seamless transitions, because once your loop is looping from the sampler you can change the discs, set up new tracks and then mix them back in.

Its dual FX section is based on Behringer’s patented BPM counting technology and works great. The mixer is able to display and read the BPM of 2 different inputs on top of which you can apply various effects such as delay, reverb, pitch shift, bitcrusher and more. These effects are all BPM-synchronized and you can assign them independently to multiple channels.

Another important part of any mixer is the crossfader. The DDM4000 has a great digital crossfader with automatic, BPM-synchronized crossfading, flexible curve adjustments and a reverse button. It can be assigned to any of the 4 channels and has a 3-band EQ kill button on both sides. The DDM4000’s crossfader can also be replaced in case you wear it out, but you’ll need to do a whole lot of mixing, before that happens.

The Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer also supports MIDI. This means that you can use the mixer as a MIDI controller for any software you like. EQ knobs, Channel faders and button presses can all be configured to send customized MIDI data. This opens another door of endless possibilities for creative applications.

Another cool feature of the Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer is that you can save various user preferences such as kill frequencies, EQ, FX settings and fader curve to different user accounts. This way every DJ can instantly recall their personal user preferences of the mixer and immediately start dropping the beats.

The Behringer DDM4000 is a state-of-the-art digital DJ mixer, jam-packed with creative tools. It has a very intuitive layout and it is simple to use. If you are looking for a mixer that has a ton of functions and sounds and feels great, the Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer is the right mixer for you. It’s time to mix it up !
